Are Ad Blocking Softwares A Threat For Google?

The tech giant has been threatened with multiple ad blocking softwares in the industry and analysts believe that it needs to come up with different techniques to overcome the insecurity.

The analysts are observing the recent change in the ad business, which has taken the industry by storm, as a huge threat to tech giants that are known to be earning majority of their revenue from displaying ads on the media sites. One of the biggest companies, which are to be affected in a colossal manner, is Google Inc. Even though analysts are of the opinion that this evolution being observed in the ad industry could be slower than it is being taken, firms that are entirely dependent on it need to work in accordance of the change so that the loss could be minimized. Even though there are many people using the internet who do not feel the need to click on popup ads appearing on their computer or phone screens, analysts are discussing how there still are people who usually click on these ads, which is the only factor that encourages the online businesses to add in more ads to their site. This becomes a point of annoyance for people who do not wish to see the ads in the first place. Analysts also believe that this ad blocking black cloud that seems to be going around the industry taking up all the potential revenue these firms once received from the industry could possibly turn out to be disappointment in near future, given the number of ad blocking software being put up on the internet lately. Even though there are many people that do not feel the need to use ad blockers, the other half that now uses them regularly is due to many reasons. One of them is how the online businesses end up showing and displaying ads to the users, in which they have no interest, and most of the time they are even filtered in accordance with the personal information of the user. These unimportant ads then become irritable for the users at large and drive them to use different kinds of ad blockers and ad blocking extensions, which leads to a headache free browsing eventually. In 2013, the number of users which felt the need to opt for ad blockers in the first place was seen to be at 54 million users but the latest results show that in the start of the current year, the numbers were seen to come around 181 million users, which again is a huge number to be reckoned with. Even though Google business is a huge company, enough to be affected right away, analysts believe that it needs to work out a unique strategy in order to make sure this change in the market does not affect it right away.
