Intel Corporation Plans To Establish IoT Centers In India

Intel Corporation wishes to establish almost 100 IoT centers in India.

Intel Corporation is one of those companies that are always working hard to expand their reach globally establishing their image as a global commodity. The company now wishes to pave its way to India by establishing Internet of Things (IoT) centers. As per recent reports, Intel wishes to establish almost hundred Internet of Things (IoT) centers which will serve as academic institutions all over India. The purpose of these centers is to cater to educationist, students, along with electronic enthusiast that wish to make things on their own. The company is providing a platform for the young talents to nurture their skills. The project will be powered by Intel Galileo that will enable them to build the prototypes of various products. Apart from this, Intel also has plans to award various students with 'Intel India PhD fellowships'. Through this program, five PhD students will be chosen in the fiscal year of 2015. These announcements by the company have given a great kick start to the “Second Intel India Academic Forum 2015”. In compliance to the Intel India PhD fellowship venture for 2015, the shortlisted five candidates would be awarded fellowship scholarships that can go as far as 6,00,000 INR for each year. This scholarship will be available for a four years period along with contingency funds for research, stipend for the student, expenditures for travelling allowing them to attend various summits and research conferences. The best part is that these students will get a lot of exposure since they will be working at Intel itself so that they can develop an insightful understanding of the technological problems that our industry is dealing with currently. They will also come up with various breakthroughs in researches in several areas like power management, parallel computing, perceptual computing, graphics, architecture, communications and validation. According to the President of Intel India, Mr. Kumud Srinivasan stated: "Innovation is in Intel's DNA. For over 15 years, Intel has been building an ecosystem in India, which enables innovation, research and skill development. Intel's India Academic Forum is a platform for fostering insights on technology trends and for triggering collaboration opportunities between academia, government and industry, thereby enabling impactful innovation and research.” This venture is actually a breakthrough for the Indian economy since now a bunch of their students will be educated by the Information Technology pioneers. Ventures like these are an asset for any nation and Intel needs to be praised for all its efforts.
